You can also use handy free tool called Quick Migration, provided by Veeam. With it, it’s possible to move VMs between old and new hosts even if new datastore can’t be seen by old host.
When I’ve previously face similar issue all that I had to do was: add both hosts to backup console and quick migrate required VMs between servers. Worked like a charm.
